SNOW IN ROME!

EXTREME TRAVELING IN ROME

Day 1: Well, it's a bloody miracle, but not to worry my fellow friends and family for I am alive and well in Rome!!! Every possible problem happened: one flight was three hours late, which caused me to miss my next connection and have to find another plane to hitch a ride on to Rome, and my luggage was conveniently left in Amsterdam. On a plus side, I see several large domes outside of my window, one of which looks suspiciously like it belongs to St. Peter's Basilica.

Day 13: Sometimes to note: Most grocery stores are closed on Sunday's and all are definitely closed in the evenings. Oh well, it was a good excuse to get more pesto pizza.

Day 26: When in Rome and it snows more than it ever has in 26 years (some areas received five inches in just a few hours!!!) one is obligated to go for a stroll in Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, Piazza Trilussa, Campo di Fiori, the Theatre of Pompey, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Fontana di Trevi, and then, of course, back to the Pantheon (because it's so magical). One must also not forget to eat some pizza and sip some hot chocolate while gazing at the Fontana di Trevi outside of the window. Then visit the Church of Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio a Trevi to listen to some Latin prayers sung and to make a miniature snowman that overlooks the Tiber. This was a historic day in Rome to remember in which not only did this SoCal girl have her camera out snapping photos of all the curious white powdery stuff on the Pantheon, but so did all the Romans.
